•Amazon has extended its Prime Now alcohol delivery service to the San Diego market, joining New York and Seattle. In San Diego, Amazon has partnered with retail chain Keg N Bottle, which has nine locations in the area, offering beer, wine and spirits delivery in one to two hours. Amazon will compete with existing players Minibar and Saucey in San Diego’s drinks delivery market.

•St. Helena-based Rombauer Vineyards is adding a Sauvignon Blanc to its national lineup for the first time. Launching this month, Rombauer’s Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from Pope Valley and Oak Knoll and retails at $24 a 750-ml. bottle. It joins Rombauer’s existing portfolio, which includes Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel.

•Heaven Hill Brands’ Burnett’s vodka has introduced a new Cucumber Lime expression to its 36-flavor lineup. Rolling out in April, the new 35%-abv entry will be available in 50-ml., 750-ml., 1-liter and 1.75-liter formats, retailing at $10.99 a 750-ml. The Burnett’s range continued its long-term run of strong growth last year, rising 8% to 2.8 million cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.

Bacchus Wineworks, the sales and marketing unit of San Francisco-based Bacchus Capital Management, has appointed David Simpson vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for growing the company’s national account presence and managing distributor relationships. Simpson most recently was vice president of national sales for Mendocino Wine Company, with prior roles at St. Supery and Kendall-Jackson. Bacchus Wineworks, founded by Sam Bronfman, Peter Kaufman and Henry Owsley, represents DeLille Cellars, Madrigal Family Winery, Panther Creek Cellars, Sbragia Family Vineyards and Upchurch Vineyard.

•Industry veteran Robert Cappuccino has been named vice president of national sales for wine and spirits strategic marketing and consulting service Foundations Marketing Group. Cappuccino’s career in the wine and spirits business includes a host of sales, marketing and management roles with Winebow, Mark West, Opici Imports and Zonin USA among others.
